Pedestrian dies when hit in lane on Bradshaw Road

A man died early Saturday morning when he struck by a car while walking on Bradshaw Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The Sacramento County Coroner's Office listed the pedestrian killed in the crash as Dionysos Jay Lewis, 21, of Sacramento.

The California Highway Patrol said that Lewis was walking northbound in a southbound lane of Bradshaw Road bout 2:30 a.m. Saturday near Kiefer Boulevard. The driver of a car heading southbound could not see Lewis, who was wearing dark clothing.

The driver applied her brakes but the car could not be stopped in time and Lewis was struck head-on. He died at the scene, according the CHP.
