Man stabbed near midtown Sacramento grocery store

safeway.JPGA man in his 40s suffered multiple stab wounds after being assaulted near the midtown Safeway, according to Sacramento police.

The man is being treated at a local hospital, said police Officer Doug Morse.

The stabbing apparently followed a disturbance between the victim and his assailant near the Safeway grocery store at 19th and S streets, Morse said.

The relationship between the victim and suspect is not known.

No one is custody.
