The public is welcome to attend a brief burial service for a newborn whose body was found earlier this summer in a Roseville park.
The still-unidentified baby girl, her umbilical cord still attached, was found July 8 by park maintenance workers in bushes at Saugstad Park near Douglas Boulevard and Interstate 80.
The baby was wrapped in a blanket and plastic bag inside a box. The infant appeared to have been dead for a few days.
Roseville police said in a press release that there was no signs of traumatic injury to the baby and that she may have been stillborn.
The cause of death is still not known, pending a final autopsy report. Nobody has come forward to identify the baby.
A service will be held 10 a.m. Sept. 18 at the new Auburn Public Cemetery, 1040 Collins Drive, Auburn.
