Roof collapses in Lincoln house fire, occupants escape safely

By Diana Lambert

The American Red Cross is assisting a Lincoln family who suffered a house fire at 12:19 a.m. this morning.

The fire was burning in the attic and garage of the home, in the 1300 block of Markham Ravine Drive, when firefighters arrived. Minutes later the roof collapsed into the house.

The occupants of the house escaped safely.

Firefighters from the Lincoln Fire Department, Rocklin Fire Department and California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection extinguished the fire. Damage is estimated at $75,000.

The cause remains under investigation, but it is not considered to be suspicious.
