Sacramento police said today they are investigating the death of a man found in his Oak Park home this morning as a homicide, according to authorities.
Police have not released the man's cause of death, but Officer Michele Gigante said the coroner's preliminary investigation revealed trauma on the man's body.
Paramedics summoned police to the 4400 block of 6th Avenue shortly before 8:30 a.m. after a family member had discovered the victim dead in the home.
Detectives described the death as "suspicious" after identifying possible trauma, and later determined it was a homicide after the coroner's arrival on scene.
The motive is unknown, Gigante said. However, she said detectives believe it was not a random act.
