A sheriff's department spokesman said that the woman was walking to work about 5 a.m. when she was violently attacked. She was forced down a small embankment by her attacker out of view of passing motorists or pedestrians on Watt Avenue.
The woman was transported for medical treatment. Detectives were called in to investigate the assault.
Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Jason Ramos said the suspect was described as a black man, 20 to 30 years old, with a dark complexion and clean-shaven. He was reported to be approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 180 to 200 pound and wearing a casual-sytle black leather jacket, black or dark-colored jeans, and black or dark boots.
