Cops seek tips to benefit Special Olympics

Law enforcement officers in the Sacramento area will be serving in a different capacity Saturday, working as waiters and waitresses at Red Robin restaurants and collecting tips to support Special Olympics.

Sacramento County sheriff's deputies will be serving lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. as part of the Tip-A-Cop event at four Red Robin locations: 360 Palladio Parkway, No. 410 in Folsom; 1184 Galleria Blvd. in Roseville; 751 E Joiner Parkway in Lincoln; and 7990 Greenback Lane in Citrus Heights.

Members of the Elk Grove Police Department will volunteer their services from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. at the Red Robin at 8245 Laguna Blvd., Elk Grove.
