Two Sacramento County residents were arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property and drugs after they were found sleeping in a vehicle near a boat ramp in Clarksburg.
A Yolo County sheriff's deputy spotted a vehicle that was parked illegally at Merritt's Landing Boat Ramp on South River Road at County Road 142 about 10:20 a.m. Sunday and found two people sleeping inside. The two were identified as Alwin Reynon Santiago, 37, of Elk Grove and Tanya Rae Hailey, 35, of Sacramento.
A search of the vehicle turned up several driver's licenses, Social Security cards, documents and personal account information that did not belong to either Santiago or Hailey, according to a Sheriff's Department news release. Shaved keys, drug paraphernalia and .18 grams of methamphetamine also were found in the vehicle, officials said.
Santiago and Hailey were arrested on suspicion of possession of burglary tools, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and transportation of a controlled substance, in addition to suspicion of possession of stolen property. Hailey also is accused of providing false information to a police officer.
Both were booked into Yolo County Jail and are to be arraigned Wednesday. Santiago's bail was set at $20,000, and Hailey's at $160,000.
