A methamphetamine dealer, the mother of his daughter and another criminal who helped him were all sentenced today to life in prison with no chance of parole for murdering a man who had an affair with the dealer's girlfriend.
Andrew Wilbur Jeffries, 34, organized the March 28, 2012, execution-style shooting death of Anthony Ortega, 33, in Elverta, prosecutors said. Wendy Fong, 34, helped him plan it out and provided the car and ammunition. Robert Haven, also 34, assisted in luring Ortega to his death, according to Deputy District Attorney Hilary Bagley-Franzoia.
Sacramento Superior Court Judge Helena R. Gweon imposed the life-without-parole term on the jury's Sept. 10 conviction of the three and the panel's finding that they were lying in wait to murder Ortega.
