The name of a man killed in a Loomis house fire over the weekend had been released by Placer County coroner's office.
He was identified as 65-year-old Thomas M. Jorgenson.
The house fire on Bankhead Road started in a converted garage about 5 p.m. Sunday, killing Jorgenson and injuring a younger man, officials said.
Officials did not disclose whether the two victims may have been father and son. Chief David Wheeler of the Loomis Fire Protection District said the fire generated thick smoke that rendered the two victims unconscious.
Rescuers located one victim in the living room and the second in a bedroom, said Wheeler. Both were unconscious and received emergency treatment at the scene. They were transported to Sutter Roseville Hospital, where the elder man died.
Wheeler said the victims suffered minor burns and severe smoke inhalation.
