Sacramento sheriff's detectives seek more possible victims of abusive masseur

Detectives are trying to identify any further victims of a Sacramento-area masseur who is alleged to have inappropriately touched female clients during massages.

ACEVEDO.jpgSacramento County sheriff's detectives arrested Jeremy Acevedo, who also goes by the name Jeremiah, in August after an investigation into the allegations, said Sgt. Lisa Bowman.

At least two victims have been identified by investigators, Bowman said, but detectives suspect there are more. They are asking those women to come forward.

Acevedo began working in the Sacramento area at the start of the year, Bowman said. He primarily worked in the north area.

In August, prosecutors charged Acevedo with four felony counts of penetration by a foreign object and six misdemeanor counts of sexual battery. He is no longer in custody.

Anyone with information is asked to call sexual assaults Detective Brendan McAtee at (916) 874-5070.
