Short voyage lands two in Sacramento brig

Two men were arrested on suspicion of sailing a stolen dinghy to West Sacramento.

When the owner of the sailboat saw his boat drifting in the river in the Sacramento Marina not far from Miller Park on Saturday afternoon he called police.

Two men, Kirk Sharrah, 49, and Max Wilson, 41, were met by police on the West Sacramento side of the river and placed under arrest.

Sharrah was arrested on suspicion of receiving stolen property. He was also booked on outstanding warrants, including evasion of paying transportation fares and unlawful camping.

Wilson was also booked on suspicion of receiving stolen property. He had outstanding warrants for unlawful camping and solicitation at a freeway on- or off-ramp.
