Two men were arrested at an Interstate 5 rest stop in Yolo County after 30 pounds of marijuana reportedly were found in their vehicle.
About 8:20 a.m. Wednesday, a Yolo County sheriff's deputy contacted the two men, who were in a vehicle parked at the southbound Tony Diaz Memorial Rest Stop along I-5. The deputy detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the inside and rear bed of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle turned up several large duffel bags containing 30 1-pound bags of individually packaged marijuana and 21 non-prescribed Vicodin tablets, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.
Eric Martin Scott, 22, of San Jose, and Adam Gabriel Barrett, 26, of Lancaster, were arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana, and offering to sell or furnish marijuana. Scott also is accused of possessing a controlled substance.
Both men were booked into the Yolo County Jail on Wednesday, and each was subsequently released on $50,000 bail. They are to be arraigned in Yolo County Superior Court on Nov. 27.
