Vehicle stop near Dunnigan yields 59 pounds of marijuana

A Vallejo man landed in Yolo County Jail after he was stopped for a vehicle code violation and a search of his vehicle turned up 59 pounds of marijuana.

About 1:30 p.m. Monday, a Yolo County sheriff's deputy stopped the vehicle at County Road 6 and Interstate 5 in Dunnigan. The deputy noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, prompting the search, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.

John Harrison Bedenfield, 35, was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana hashish for sale. He was booked into Yolo County Jail with bail set at $135,000. He is to be arraigned Thursday in Yolo County Superior Court.
