Rancho Cordova police who responded to a call of domestic disturbance late Thursday night found a woman dead and her husband injured.

Sacramento Sheriff's Department homicide detectives are investigating circumstances surrounding the 27-year-old woman's death. She and her 32-year-old husband were found inside a home in the 3500 block of Granby Drive.

Officers rendered aid to the woman but she died from stab wounds. The husband, who was not identified, was transported to a hospital for treatment.
