Shauna Burton allegedly used a Maglite flashlight and a knife in the brutal attack on an elderly Rancho Cordova man and his wife Sunday, according to the criminal complaint against her.
The weapons reportedly used were disclosed during Burton's arraignment in Sacramento Superior Court this afternoon.
Burton, 36, was charged with murder in the killing of 78-year-old Mel Bain in the mobile home he shared with his wife, Jean, who was critically injured.

Burton also was charged with attempted murder as the result of Jean Bain's injuries and robbery.
She did not enter a plea and was assigned a public defender. She is scheduled to return to court Nov. 19.
Two women who came to court to support Burton declined to speak to The Sacramento Bee. There did not appear to be any family members of the Bains in court.
Sacramento County sheriff's detectives have not determined a motive for the attack. They have said that Burton was an acquaintance of the victims, and that Mel Bain occasionally gave her money.
Neighbors saw Burton visit the couple's home at a mobile home park on Routier Road often enough that many knew her name, the Sheriff's Department said.
Detectives allege Burton stole a car and robbed a pharmacy before going to the victims' home. She was arrested early Monday morning.
