Sacramento County sheriff's deputies search for wanted felon

Sacramento County sheriff's deputies are searching for a parolee who ran away when officers confronted him Friday morning.

About 20 officers have set up a perimeter in the Edison Avenue area to search for the man, said Sgt. Lisa Bowman, sheriff's spokeswoman. Dyer-Kelly Elementary School is currently on lockdown.

Officers attempted to pickup the parolee at 9:14 a.m., but "as soon as he saw the officers, he started running," Bowman said.

Authorities do not know whether the suspect is armed. Bowman didn't know what charges the suspect was facing, but called him a "wanted felon."
