Woodland police are investigating a Thursday night shooting in which one person was wounded.
Officers were dispatched to Woodland Memorial Hospital at 9:14 p.m. regarding a report of a victim with a gunshot wound. They found the victim had suffered a single gunshot wound to the thigh, an injury that was not life-threatening, according to a Police Department news release.
The victim told officers that he was walking through Woodland's City Park, in the 600 block of Cleveland Street, about 8:45 p.m., when he was shot at three times by unknown individuals. The victim said he heard a car speed away after the gunshots, but he could not provide a description of the vehicle or suspects.
Officials searched City Park but were unable to find any evidence or witnesses to the shooting.
