The Elk Grove Police Department is warning residents to beware of a man who reportedly tried to lure teenagers to his vehicle on at least four occasions in recent weeks.
The first incident occurred at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 12 as a 13-year-old boy was walking in the area of Darley Way and Toscano Drive. A vehicle pulled up next to him, and the male driver attempted to engage the boy in conversation. When the boy did not respond, the man drove away, according to a Police Department news release.
The next two incidents occurred Oct. 16. At 10 a.m., a 13-year-old girl was walking in the area of Whitelock Parkway and Schuler Ranch Road when a vehicle pulled up next to her. The driver attempted to engage her in conversation, and when the girl continued walking, the vehicle pulled ahead of her into a parking lot, police said. The girl then turned around and ran away.
