The Habit Burger Grill to open outlet in Folsom

By Mark Glover

Irvine-based The Habit Burger Grill will open its seventh Sacramento area outlet Wednesday at 1115 E. Bidwell St. in Folsom.

The Folsom restaurant is hosting pre-opening charity events on Sunday and Monday.

From noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, The Habit will be open and donate all proceeds to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Reopening from 5 to 7 p.m. that day, proceeds will go to the California Restaurant Association Educational Foundation's Pro-Start program.

From noon to 2 p.m. Monday, the Folsom outlet will again be open, with proceeds going to the Folsom Zoo Sanctuary.

The Habit touts its open flame-grilled burgers, but it also serves other grilled sandwiches, specialty salads, onion rings, sweet potato fries and desserts.

The Habit started in 1969 in Santa Barbara.

The chain opened its first local restaurant at Granite Bay in 2005. It now has more than 50 outlets in California and Arizona.
