World Aids Day 2010
December 1 marks World Aids Day. A recent United Nations report revealed that nearly 33.4 million people are infected by the HIV virus throughout the world. In Europe, more than 80 iconic landmarks across 13 countries joined (RED) to promote awareness of the ongoing fight against the AIDS epidemic, by turning red to mark World AIDS Day on December 1. Elsewhere around the world there were candlelight vigils, quilt displays and a variety of other events. (36 images)
