On the Radar: Union Mine Girls Golf

Back story: The Diamondbacks have a 32-match winning streak in Sierra Valley Conference play that began more than three seasons ago.

Résumé: Union Mine has posted some of the lowest nine-hole team scores in the Sac-Joaquin Section, including a 200 at Bartley Cavanaugh, a 202 at Forest Lake and a 206 at Empire Ranch.

Top player: The team is led by senior Cassidy Stelzmiller, the defending conference MVP. She leads the SVC with a 38-stroke average for nine holes. UC Davis and Nebraska have offered scholarships to Cassidy, whose sister Chelsea is a senior playing with the Aggies.

Supporting cast: Seniors Tasha Kubek (nine-hole average of 41), Camille Waldon (44) and Courtney Thomas (46), and juniors Hannah Moylan and Elizabeth Petty.

Up next: The Diamondbacks play Monday at Bartley Cavanaugh in the second conference tournament. They finish their SVC dual-match season Tuesday against El Dorado at Cameron Park.
