Bear River softball wins another Dandelion Classic title

Led by tournament MVP Alyssa Reina, the Bear River softball team continued its domination of the Dandelion Classic in Jackson.

The Bruins won their third championship in four years at Argonaut's tournament, defeating Escalon 3-0 in Saturday's final.

Reina, a junior, went 10 for 11 with two home runs, two triples, two doubles and eight RBIs. In the championship game, she had a triple, home run, drove in two runs and scored from third when the catcher tried to pick her off.

Junior pitcher Maddie Phelps, who went 4-0 and pitched a one-hitter in the title game, also made all-tournament with junior Stephanie Ceo.
