Del Oro leads nationally ranked St. Mary's 27-24 at half of NorCal D-II title game

Del Oro High School leads nationally ranked No. 6 St. Mary's of Stockton 27-24 at the half of today's Northern California Division II championship game at Power Balance Pavilion.

Seemingly half the town of Loomis - no, make that all of Loomis - is on hand in support, with student rooting section and band. Del Oro lost Sac-Joaquin Section Division II title game to the Rams 70-65 and vowed to cut down on turnovers and nerves this time, and so far, so good.

Madeline Campbell and Crystal Sewell have 10 points each for Del Oro, and Brianna Ruiz has six rebounds and five assists for the Golden Eagles, a superb team of fundamentals, skill and grit...
