Wisdom pitches second consecutive no-hitter in Elk Grove win

Elk Grove High School senior pitching whiz Shelby Wisdom did it all in Thursday's 4-0 Delta Valley Conference win over Franklin.

Wisdom struck out 15 batters in pitching her second consecutive no-hitter. Wisdom had no walks but hit a batter.

The senior also went two-for-two and drove in two runs as the No. 2 Thundering Herd climbed to 17-4 overall and 7-0 in league.

It wasn't Wisdom's season high for strikeouts, however.

Last season's Bee Player of the Year fanned 17 in a 4-1 win over St. Mary's of Stockton March 29 and 16 batters against Bear Creek of Stockton March 10.

Elk Grove plays Tuesday 4:15 p.m. at Laguna Creek.
