No. 8 Pleasant Grove rallies for four in 7th to beat No. 2 Sheldon

No. 8 Pleasant Grove scored four runs in the top of the seventh to rally to defeat No. 2 Sheldon 6-5 in a Delta River League girls softball game today at Sheldon.

Ally Carda had two doubles and two runs batted in and picked up the complete game win for Pleasant Grove. She allowed 10 hits and walked a batter but struck out eight.

Haley Willmon had a single and two RBIs for the Eagles, which finish the regular season 15-8 overall and 7-3 and in second place in Delta River play.

Danielle Henderson had three hits and Dejanee Moore two hits and two RBI as Sheldon, the league champions, fell to 22-5 and 8-2 in league.

"You've got to give them credit," said Sheldon coach Mary Jo Truesdale. "They got the hits when they needed them. We had an opportunity in the seventh, but couldn't push the tying run across.

"This has been a super league. And today's game sure did prove it."
