SFL rivals Granite Bay and Rocklin to meet for D-II soccer title

Sierra Foothill League rivals Rocklin and Granite Bay will meet 2 p.m. Saturday in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II girls soccer championship game at Cosumnes Oaks High School in Elk Grove.

Both advanced by winning semifinals this afternoon.

Savannah Coiner and Rebekah Anderson each scored two goals as Rocklin (17-3-2) defeated Kennedy 5-0. Granite Bay (15-4-1) edged Bella Vista on penalty kicks.

Rocklin won this year's SFL title. Granite Bay finished second. Rocklin beat Granite Bay 2-1 and tied the Grizzlies 2-2.

Granite Bay last won the D-II championship in 2002. Rocklin last won in 2001, although the Thunder has finished as the runners-up four times since, including last year, 2-1, to league rival Roseville.
