St. Francis and Davis again to play for D-I girls soccer title

Perennial powers Davis and St. Francis will meet for the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I girls soccer championship 4 p.m. Saturday at Cosumnes Oaks High School in Elk Grove.

Both dispatched southern section teams in today's semifinals.

Led by Sarah Sadler's three goals, Davis dispatched Pitman of Turlock 7-0. St. Francis defeated St. Mary's in Stockton 1-0 on Andrea Damian's goal.

Davis (24-1-1) and St. Francis (15-7-1) met in last year's section title game, with the Troubadours winning 4-3 on penalty kicks.

St. Francis has won seven of the last eight D-I titles. The lone exception was Davis in 2007.
