Davis snaps Jesuit's nation-leading 68-match win streak with tie

It was Davis coach Ashley Yudin' 41st wedding anniversary today.

So before the Blue Devils' match against national No. 1 Jesuit in Carmichael, Yudin kidded his players, "You better not ruin my anniversary."

Instead the Blue Devils delivered a nice present to Yudin and wife Nancy - "thank God she's a soccer person," Ashley added.

Davis tied the Marauders 1-1 in the non-league contest, snapping Jesuit's national leading consecutive victory streak at 68 matches.

Jesuit's Dylan Wong scored midway through the first half, then six minutes later Collin Holtz scored off an assist from Tom Nolan for the Blue Devils' equalizer.

Davis' junior back-line of Connor Anderson, Lee LeVerrier, Jacob Rutheiser, Emmanuel Medina and goalie Derek Pleasants withstood a frantic Jesuit second-half barrage of shots and corner kicks.
