Former Placer volleyball star named Domincan assistant coach

Former Placer High boys volleyball standout Jason Cole has been named the top assistant coach for the women's volleyball team at Dominican University in San Rafael.

Cole has coached varsity volleyball at Turlock, Colfax and Placer high schools. Since 2009, he has assisted with the Northern California Volleyball Club in Sacramento, USA High Performance Volleyball Program and at the Boys High Performance Camp in Tucson, Ariz.

While at Placer, Cole captained a 28-0 junior varsity squad as a middle blocker, then switched to an outside hitter and starred on Placer's varsity team that went 48-0 and won back-to-back league titles in 1995-96. He was the team's MVP his senior year.
