Woodcreek and Bella Vista boys and girls cross country teams flip-flopped top places in the boys and girls Division II races at Saturday's Stanford Invitational.
Behind junior Karina Nunes' fourth-place finish of 18 minutes, 22 seconds over the 3.1-mile course, the Woodcreek girls placed first and Bella Vista second, 127 to 182.
Bella Vista edge Woodcreek, 101 to 115, in the boys race, despite senior Hunter Tyler's second-place finish (15:37) for the Timberwolves.
Among the other highlights:
Oakmont sophomore Karlie Garcia placed second in 17:09 and Vista del Lago junior Madeleine Ankhelyi took third (17:18) and freshman Sierra Jaeger seventh (18:22) to lead the Eagles to second place behind Campolindo of Moraga in the D-III girls.
Oak Ridge freshman Ellie Velez was fifth (18:44) to lead Oak Ridge to second place behind San Clemente in the D-I girls. Davis finished fifth.
Davis junior Jack Scranton took third (15:53) in leading the Blue Devils to a fourth place finish in D-I boys. Pleasant Grove junior Caton Avilla was fourth (15:53).
