Garcia, Rushing record top times at section cross country finals

Oakmont's Karlie Garcia and Del Campo's Jordan Rushing had the top times in boys and girls races, respectively, at Friday's Sac-Joaquin Section cross country championships at Willow Hill Reservoir in Folsom.

Garcia, ranked No. 2 in the state in her division, won the D-III girls race in a time of 17 minutes, 41 seconds over the 3.1 mile course. Rushing, ranked No. 12 in the state in his division, won the D-II boys race in 16:04.

Vista del Lago girls, ranked third in California in their division, won the D-III race as Madeleine Ankhelyi (18:01), Clare Carroll (18:18) and Sierra Jaeger (18:51) finished second through fourth.

Del Campo, ranked No. 10 in the state in its division, won the D-II race easily over No. 8 Woodcreek, 30 to 73.
