Jesuit's Rose to coach; Davis' Gross to play in soccer event

Davis senior midfielder Ryan Gross, who recently helped lead the Blue Devils to a 7-5 penalty kick win over Jesuit in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I boys championship game, has been selected to play in the High School All-American Soccer Game Saturday in Hoover, Ala.

The game, featuring 40 of the nation's top seniors from the fall playing states, is being held in conjunction with the men's NCAA Division I College Cup soccer championships.

Jesuit's Jeff Rose also was selected to the West team, but will not play because of injury.

Jesuit coach Paul Rose, Jeff's father, is co-coaching the West team.

Gross has verbally committed to UC Davis; Jeff Rose to Seattle.
