Boys Top 20: Kennedy's last chance co-Metro title bid is tonight

No. 10 Kennedy will make its last push at a Metro Conference boys basketball title share when it takes on league unbeaten and No. 3 Sacramento 7 p.m. tonight in Greenhaven.

Kennedy (19-6, 10-2) trails the Dragons (20-5, 12-0) by two games and was humbled by Sac High in Oak Park 77-39 in their earlier meeting this season.

Coach Robert Fong's Cougars conclude the Metro season by playing host to No. 7 Burbank (19-6, 9-3), last season's league champions, on Thursday.

In other important boys games to wind down the final week of the regular season:

• Antelope (24-1, 8-0) can take the outright Capital Athletic League title with a win Wednesday against second place and visiting Rio Americano (11-13, 6-2). Coach Rob Richards' Titans play at Whitney (14-11, 2-6) on Friday.

• No. 9 Bella Vista (21-4, 7-1) will make it back-to-back league titles by winning at Rio Linda (9-25, 0-8) tonight.

• Top-ranked Sheldon (21-5, 8-1) will claim the outright Delta River League crown with a win at No. 5 Pleasant Grove (21-4, 6-3) on Friday.

• No. 14 Capital Christian (21-4, 8-0) can capture the Golden Empire League banner and finish unbeaten in league with a win Wednesday at home against West Campus (8-16, 3-5) and another on Friday against visiting Lindhurst (19-6, 7-1).

• No. 15 Del Oro (17-8, 7-1) will wrap up the Sierra Foothill League championship with a win Wednesday at Roseville (13-12, 4-4). The Golden Eagles play at home Friday against No. 16 Granite Bay (13-12, 5-3).

• The San Juan Spartans (16-9, 10-1) will secure the outright Sierra Delta League title banner if they can beat host Vacaville Christian (7-12, 4-6) on Friday.

• No. 17 Cosumnes Oaks (18-7, 8-2), in its third varsity season, can win its first boys basketball title with a victory at home Wednesday against Liberty Ranch (5-18, 2-8). The Wolfpack conclude the regular season on Friday at Union Mine (17-8, 6-4).

• No. 18 Yuba City (15-9, 7-1) will claim its fifth consecutive Tri-County Conference title with a win Wednesday against visiting Woodland (3-21, 1-7). The Honkers play host to No. 20 River Valley (18-5, 6-2) on Friday.
