Girls Top 20: El Camino beats Rio Raiders to finish 10-0 in CAL; Del Oro defeats Nevada Union to claim 8th straight SFL title

Jade Sowell-Hundon's game-high 23 points led No. 4 El Camino to a 65-45 Capital Athletic League win over No. 17 Rio Americano in girls basketball tonight.

With the win, El Camino (23-4, 10-0) finishes unbeaten in league play for the second consecutive season and first under new coach Rich Drawbert. Fie Brandt led Rio Americano (17-10, 7-3) with 19 points.

Michelle Okoroike had 26 points and freshman Cameo Warren 14 as No. 19 Antelope (18-7, 7-3) defeated Whitney 70-45 to finish in a tie for second in the CAL with Rio Americano. Alex Rodriguez had 22 points for Whitney.

In other games involving The Bee's Top 20 girls teams:

• Brianna Ruiz scored 24 points and Stephanie Geyer added 22 as No. 12 Del Oro defeated No. 11 Nevada Union 59-45 in Grass Valley. The win gives Del Oro (17-10, 9-1) its eighth consecutive Sierra Foothill League championship. Nevada Union (14-12, 8-2) had ended Del Oro's 63-game league winning streak earlier in the season with a 44-42 win in Loomis.

• Lydia Summers scored 18 points, Joie Camalo 15 and Shannon Garvella 14 as No. 15 Rocklin defeated Woodcreek 52-48 in the Sierra Foothill League finale for both.

• Robbin Martinez' 19 points helped lead San Juan (21-6, 11-1) to a 56-16 Sierra Delta League win over Vacaville Christian. San Juan has secured at least a share of the league championship. Bradshaw Christian (15-10, 10-1) plays Friday at Golden Sierra.
