Former Cosumnes Oaks star named WAC Pitcher of the Week

Former Cosumnes Oaks softball standout Madison Fish of San Jose State has been named the Western Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for March 26-April 1.

Fish, a freshman, pitched a one-hitter in a 7-0 win over Louisiana Tech. She struck out two and walked two.

It was her fourth start and first complete game for the Spartans.

Fish is 5-2 with a 2.65 earned-run average for the 19-18 Spartans.

The 5-foot-7 right-hander was a four-year letter winner at Cosumnes Oaks High School for coach Lynda Bettencourt. She was the Sierra Valley Conference MVP last season and a Bee All-Metro first team selection as an outfielder.
