Granite Bay senior Avery Hutchinson and former Granite Bay player Catie Miller, now at Sierra College, have signed letters of intent to play for the William Jessup women's soccer team in the fall.
Hutchinson was a member of the Grizzlies' Sac-Joaquin Section Division II championship team last season and had six goals and two assists. The three-year varsity player has the Grizzlies off to a 5-1-2 start this year.
"Avery is a versatile player that can play any position on the field," said William Jessup women's soccer coach Jamie Howard. "She is extremely athletic and will be an asset to our team. We have been recruiting Avery for the past several years and are very excited that she has signed with the Warriors."
Miller was the team MVP at Sierra College in helping the Wolverines to a 25-12-7 record the last two seasons.
"She is a great player with incredible field vision and work ethic," Howard said. "She has a commanding presence on the field and ability to dictate play. We are excited to have Catie on the team and look for her to have an immediate impact on the field."
William Jessup finished 2011 as co-Champions of the California Pacific Conference. It was the Warriors' third title in four years. The Warriors start practice on Aug. 6.
