Jesuit's Mitsch nosed out for final qualifying spot in boys 100

It was a close call for Jesuit's Austin Mitsch at tonight's trials of the CIF State Track and Field championships in Clovis.

The junior barely missed qualifying for Saturday's finals in the boys 100 meters.

Mitsch had the 10th fastest time - the top nine qualify - in running 10.665 in Heat Four.

Dylan McCloskey from El Camino in the San Diego Section nosed Mitsch out for the last qualifying spot with a 10.663.

McCloskey ran in Heat One; Mitsch in Heat Three, where he finished fifth.

Khalfani Muhammad of Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks had the fastest time of 10.44.

Jesuit's Loren Pilorin finished 22nd overall with a 10.91.

Earlier, the Jesuit 4x100 boys relay finished 17th with a time of 42.39.
