Legacy High of Dallas senior Shelbi Vaughan set a new national high school record in the girls discus at tonight's 53rd annual Golden West Invitational at Folsom High School.

Despite windy conditions, Vaughan threw the discus 193 feet, 11 inches, bettering her previous national best of 191-6.
