Dominican University of San Rafael officially announced its women's soccer signees for the 2012 season today and the list includes recent area high school graduates Lauren Gollnick of Del Oro and Kayla Treanor of Yuba City.
Gollnick scored 10 goals and had three assists in leading Del Oro to its first Sierra Foothill League title in 13 years. The SFL Player of the Year this season, Gollnick finished her three-year varsity career at Del Oro with 21 goals and 11 assists.
"Lauren has good speed, is very technical and has the ability to score goals," said Dominican director of soccer Jon Delano. "We are very excited to have her here, and we look forward to seeing her develop over four years."
Treanor, a defender, was the co-MVP of the Tri-County Conference in her senior year. She also plays for Elk Grove Everton FC.
"Kayla is a good, aggressive, one vs. one defender," Delano said. "She has shown that she likes to join the attack. Her work ethic is something we admired through the recruiting process."
