Jesuit's Zach Green and Elk Grove's Ryan "Rowdy" Tellez were named to Cal-Hi Sports' 30-man All-State first team baseball squad.
Green, a senior shortstop who signed with the Philadelphia Phillies after being drafted in the third round last month, batted .408 with 80 RBIs and 11 home runs during his three-year varsity career for the Marauders. Tellez, a junior first baseman, hit .568 with 47 RBIs and seven home runs this past spring.
Davis senior pitcher Ben Eckels, who signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks after being selected in the 11th round, and Franklin multi-purpose player Josh Pigg made the second team.
El Dorado's Justin Dillon, a Sacramento State signee, made Cal-Hi's All-State Medium School Team and Capital Christian junior pitcher Ben Ritchey was selected to the All-State Small School team.
Elk Grove infielder Dom Nunez, Granite Bay outfielder Aaron Knapp and Woodcreek multi-purpose player Stephen Nogosek, all juniors, joined Tellez on the Cal-Hi All-State Underclass first team.
Tellez was nosed out by Vista of San Diego's Brett Seeburger for Cal-Hi Junior Class Player of the Year. Tellez was Cal-Hi's state Sophomore Class Player of the Year last season.
