Elk Grove has moved up three spots and Grant has climbed into the top 25 but Del Oro and Granite Bay have tumbled out of this week's Cal-Hi Sports State football rankings.
Elk Grove is now No. 13 after beating Lincoln in Stockton in its Zero Week opener on Friday. Grant moved into the top 25 at No. 22 after beating Paradise in Del Paso Heights.
But Del Oro and Granite Bay, No. 9 and No. 22, respectively, in the preseason rankings dropped out after losses to No. 4 Oaks Christian and No. 15 Westlake, respectively, in last weekend's Battle for Veterans at Del Oro.
Del Oro and Granite Bay also took hits in Cal-Hi's state bowl rankings.
Del Oro fell from No. 3 to No. 13 and Granite Bay from No. 7 to No. 14 in the unofficial Northern California Division I rankings.
Elk Grove climbed from No. 5 to No. 3 behind top-ranked De La Salle of Concord and No. 2 Bellarmine of San Jose. The two parochial school powers play each other on Friday.
Grant is No. 4 (from 15), Nevada Union No. 5 (from 14) and Pleasant Grove No. 8 (from 12). Folsom and Franklin are listed as bubble teams.
Placer is No. 2 behind Oakdale and Inderkum No. 9 and Casa Roble No. 10 in D-II; Bradshaw Christian is No. 3 behind No. 1 Central Catholic of Modesto and Ferndale in D-IV.
