Center beats Lincoln in PVL opener for fifth consecutive win

No. 20 Center continues to show its the real deal this season.

With D'Juan Bellaire rushing for 177 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries and Tyrel Anderson adding 146 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries, the Cougars beat Lincoln 39-27 on the road tonight in the Pioneer Valley League opener.

Davis Dykstra completed 10 of 17 passes for 143 yards and a touchdown and also returned an interception 32 yards for a score to lead Lincoln (3-3).

Friday's win was Center's fifth consecutive after losing 30-19 to Chico in the season opener Aug. 31.

The Cougars' next game is at Colfax Friday.
