NorCalPreps lists Laguna Creek's Pope No. 1 in Class of 2014

National recruit Malik Pope of Laguna Creek is No. 1 in NorCalPreps.com's Class of 2014 Northern California Top 40 boys basketball rankings.

Pope, a 6-foot-8, 205-pound transfer from Burbank, is ranked No. 11 nationally by Rivals.com.

He reportedly has 17 major college offers, including UCLA, Kansas, Louisville and Baylor.

The other area players and their rankings: No. 8 - Cameron Oliver, Grant; No. 11 - D.J. Wilson, Capital Christian; No. 13 - Lake Lukes, Jesuit; No. 15 - Chris Snyder, Ponderosa; No. 18 - Nifae Lealao, Capital Christian; No. 22 - Brady Anderson, Jesuit; No. 25 - Tyler Jennings, Capital Christian; No. 26 - Jalen Coates, Burbank; No. 37 - Benson Osaybode, Franklin.
