Winston dazzles in leading No. 17 Antelope past El Camino

Antelope's Tyler Winston continues to dazzle with his special gifts.

Tonight the senior wide receiver-defensive back helped put a quick end to any thoughts of El Camino producing a road win in the much anticipated Capital Athletic League football opener.

Winston caught a 27-yard touchdown pass from Tyler McCombs, then returned an interception 90 yards for a touchdown for a quick 14-0 first quarter lead.

From there the No. 17 Titans (5-1) coasted to a 35-6 victory over the No. 19 Eagles (4-2).

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Winston has at least six college scholarship offers, including UCLA and Boiste State.

Senior running back Jonathan Crippes rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries and senior lineman Ray Cherry had eight tackles, including four for losses, as coach Matt Ray's Titans now prepare to play next Saturday against Mira Loma at El Camino High School.
