Boys basketball roundup: Jesuit wins Jack Scott opener

Lake Lutes scored 27 points and Isiah King added 22 as Jesuit defeated Kennedy 63-51 in tonight's Jack Scott boys basketball tournament first-round game at Rio Americano High School.

In other first-round Jack Scott contests, Monterey Trail defeated Oak Ridge 66-64; Foothill topped El Camino 68-67; and Rio Americano beat Center 66-48.

In second round games Friday at Rio Americano, El Camino faces Kennedy at 4 p.m.; Oak Ridge plays Center at 5:30; Foothill plays Jesuit at 7:15; and Monterey Trail plays Rio Americano at 9 p.m.

Here are some other highlights from Thursday night's boys games.

• Danny Goldman led four players in double figures with 17 points as Elk Grove defeated Florin 76-71 in overtime in the Bill Cartwright Classic at Elk Grove. In other Cartwright games, Aaron Harmetz had 26 points to lead McClatchy by Lodi 70-66; and Zach Wolking's 22 points lifted Folsom over Nevada Union 63-42.

• Zach D'Alesandro had 16 points and Dominic Driggs 15 to lead Bella Vista over Rosemont 76-40 in opening round of the Bronco Roundup at Bella Vista.

• UC Irogebu had 28 points and Nifae Lealao 15 in Capital Christian's 75-47 win over South Lake Tahoe in the Gold Dust tournament at El Dorado High School.
