Encina, Jesuit and Vista del Lago advance in boys soccer

Pavel Condruic scored two goals and Brando Alvarez and Mark Lemus one apiece to lead Encina past visiting Millennium of Tracy 4-0 in today's Sac-Joaquin Section Division VI boys soccer quarterfinals.

The win advances No. 3 Encina to Wednesday semifinals at No. 2 Gustine, a 2-0 winner over Summerville.

Encina is trying to become the area's first boys soccer team to win four consecutive section championships.

In other quarterfinal matches, Tucker Bone had two goals and John Bovill, Niko Hansen and Evan Barrett scored goals to lead top-seeded Jesuit over No. 8 Woodcreek 5-0 in Division I.

Jesuit will play host to No. 12 Merced, a 5-1 winner over Armijo, in Wednesday's semifinals. Defending D-I section champion Davis and Granite Bay will meet in the other semifinal in Granite Bay.

Sixth-seeded Davis defeated No. 3 McClatchy 2-1 and No. 2 Granite Bay beat No. 7 West of Tracy 2-1.

In Division IV, two-time defending champion Vista del Lago defeated Ceres 2-0 behind goals by Matt Raymond and Cody Sherfy.

Top-seeded Vista del Lago will play host to No. 4 Lincoln on Wednesday. The Fighting Zebras advanced with a 1-0 win over Dixon.
