Boys roundup: Stutevilles lead Casa Roble to Galt title

Eric and Mason Stuteville combined for 37 points to lead Casa Roble past Bear Creek of Stockton 51-50 in tonight's championship game of the Galt Warrior Classic boys basketball tournament.

Liberty Ranch defeated Rosemont 63-59 in overtime in the third place game.

In other boys highlights of note:

• Malik Thames had 25 points and Matthew Hayes added 13 points as Pleasant Grove defeated West of Tracy 77-55 to repeat as Mark Macres tournament champions at Monterey Trail. Granite Bay defeated Foothill 67-55 for third place; Campolindo of Moraga beat Monterey Trail 71-51 in the consolation final; and Christian Brothers topped Reno 55-44 for seventh place.

• Despite 22 points by De'Sean Parsons, Grant fell 79-69 to El Cerrito in the title game of the McDonald's Classic in Stockton. Alex Van Dyke had 26 points in Cosumnes Oaks' 75-70 win over Edison of Stockton; and David Straughter had 26 points in Burbank's 70-62 win over Oakland.

• UC Iroegbu's 20 points helped Capital Christian to defeat Del Oro 60-49 in the Del Oro Invitational championship game. Bella Vista beat River City 65-52 for third place.

• Joseph Barnes had 19 points and James Hadnot 16 in Sacramento's 59-57 win over Freedom of Oakley in the Gridley Invitational.
