Boys Basketball Top 20: Capital Christian hammers Dixon

Uchenna Iroegbu had 15 points, Trey Belton and Nifae Lealao 14 each and D.J. Wilson 13 as No. 4 Capital Christian defeated Dixon 86-49 in a Golden Empire League boys basketball game tonight at Dixon High School.

The win moves Capital Christian to 15-2 overall and 3-0 in league. Dixon, led by Jake Moraes' 19 points, falls to 8-12 overall, 1-2 in league.

NO. 6 BELLA VISTA 69, OAKMONT 43 - Tyler Berkness scored 16 points, Austin Hennen 13 and Zach D'Alesandro 11 to lead the Broncos (14-4, 2-0) over the Vikings (6-11, 0-2) in a Capital Valley Conference game in Roseville.

NO. 7 ROCKLIN 58, NEVADA UNION 50 - Taylor Cherry tallied 16 points and Drew Ardissone added 14 as the Thunder (14-5, 2-0) defeated the Miners (8-11, 1-1) in a Sierra Foothill League game in Grass Valley. Nolan Stefani led Nevada Union with 13 points.

NO. 9 DEL CAMPO 53, RIO LINDA 45 - Semir Cahtarevic had 13 points and Vasilije Saraba 11 as the Cougars (13-5, 1-1) defeated the Knights (6-10, 0-2) in a Capital Valley Conference game in Rio Linda. Langston Howard had 14 points and Riley Smith and Paul Rubio 13 each for Rio Linda.

NO. 10 GRANITE BAY 70, NO. 8 DEL ORO 42 - Trailing by one-point at halftime, the Grizzlies (13-6, 2-0) outscored the Golden Eagles 25-4 in the third quarter en route to a surprisingly lopsided Sierra Foothill League win in Granite Bay. Granite Bay's Kendrick Jackson led all scorers with 23 points. Jackson's father, Bobby, was in attendance on an off night for the Sacramento Kings' assistant coach. Del Oro (12-7) falls to 0-2 in the SFL for the first time since the 2006-07 season.

NO. 12 COLFAX 64, PLACER 49 - Taylor Dorsey had 21 points, Will Buell 18 and Matt Larson 14 in leading the Falcons (15-4, 1-1) over the Hillmen (14-5, 1-1) in a Pioneer Valley League game in Auburn. Isaiah Pineiro had 24 points for Placer.

NO. 15 CASA ROBLE 57, CHRISTIAN BROTHERS 44 - Mason and Eric Stuteville combined for 33 points in leading the Rams (15-4, 2-0) over the Falcons (10-9, 1-1) in the Capital Valley Conference game.

NO. 18 ROSEVILLE 76, WOODCREEK 63 - Marcus Garcia had 12 points, Wil White 11 and Cole Jacobs, Roman Tyukayev and Matt Tawlks 10 each as the Tigers (16-3, 1-1) defeated the host Timberwolves (9-10, 0-2) in a Sierra Foothill League contest. Tyler Milani had 17 and Noah Blackwell 14 for Woodcreek.

NO. 20 LINCOLN 38, CENTER 35 - The Fighting Zebras (15-4, 2-0), who led most of the game, scored the final three points to beat the Cougars (5-12, 0-2) in a Pioneer Valley League game in Antelope. Marcus Salgado led Lincoln with 10 points.
