Girls Top 20: Sac tops Florin; Woodcreek upsets Del Oro

With the score tied 24-24 in the third quarter, top-ranked Sacramento went on an 11-0 run en route to a 54-38 Metro Conference girls basketball win over No. 11 Florin tonight in Oak Park.

Chaya Durr led the Dragons with 14 points and Aliceah Hernandez and Allie Green added 12 apiece as the Dragons won their 85th consecutive league game.

Dalayna Sampton led Florin with 17 points.

NO. 4 NEVADA UNION 70, ROSEVILLE 22 - Emma Peterson had 18 points as the Miners (16-4, 4-1) defeated the Tigers (3-18, 0-5) in a Sierra Foothill League game in Roseville.

NO. 6 BRADSHAW CHRISTIAN 70, HIGHLANDS 16 - Ashlee Jones had 19 points as the Pride (19-2, 8-0) cruised past the Scots (2-18, 2-6) in the Sierra Delta League game in North Highlands. Bradshaw Christian has won 12 games in a row.

NO. 9 ST. FRANCIS 68, FOLSOM 26 - Rachel Frank had 18 points, Marisa Boras 12 and Najah Queenland 11 as the Troubadours (11-8, 3-2) coasted past the Bulldogs (5-17, 0-5) in the Delta River League game in Folsom.

WOODCREEK 50, NO. 8 DEL ORO 45 - The unranked Timberwolves outscored the Golden Eagles 18-8 in the fourth quarter in a shocking Sierra Foothill League upset in Roseville. Aliya Davis had 12 points and Liz Gehweiler 11 for Woodcreek (11-11, 3-2), which handed Del Oro (14-8, 4-1) only their second league loss in 74 games.

GRANT 59, NO. 12 MONTEREY TRAIL 31 - Alecia Ashford had 22 points and the Pacers (13-9, 4-2) outscored the visiting Mustangs 25-6 in the third quarter to hand Monterey Trail (16-7, 5-1) its first league loss in Delta Valley Conference play.

NO. 16 DAVIS 57, ELK GROVE 40 - Ashleigh Vandenbrink's 29 points led the way for the Blue Devils (18-4, 5-1) over the Thundering Herd (8-15, 1-5) in the Delta Valley Conference game in Elk Grove. Madison Wong had 19 points for Elk Grove.

NO. 17 ROCKLIN 71, GRANITE BAY 56 - Lydia Summers had 30 points and Jordan Purvis added 22 as the Thunder defeated the host Grizzlies in the SFL game. Deaja Black had 23 points, 10 rebounds and four steals for Granite Bay.

NO. 18 WEST CAMPUS 62, MEVA VERDE 20 - Haley Shaner's 17 points, four rebounds and three blocks led the Warriors (15-8, 6-0) over the visiting Mavericks (6-12, 1-5) in the Golden Empire League game.
